The Woodbury State of the City event is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Valley Golf Course clubhouse.
Mayor Anne Burt says, “We are excited about some changes we’ve made to the program this year to provide an opportunity for the community to engage with us on a more personal level.” CLICK HERE to learn more about the changes and how you can see the event if you missed it live.

The Woodbury Expo is this weekend. It will be Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Woodbury High School. More than 150 local businesses and organizations will have booths and representatives at the event this year - including Woodbury News Net.
Some residents describe the event as an indoor version of Woodbury Days,” a chance to see what’s happening in the city without humidity or bees! CLICK HERE for a list of the events on the main stage. (It’s even the theme of this week’s WNN Word Scramble!).

Last week we TOLD YOU Destination: Woodbury will be officially launching their website promoting Woodbury at the Expo.

Woodbury High School and Royal Oaks Elementary School were placed under what was called a “secure protocol” for about 30 minutes on the afternoon of Monday, March 31, 2025.
Woodbury High School Principal Sarah Sorenson-Wagner said “staff received information that a student may have had a gun on school grounds today. Our staff responded immediately, located the student and worked with our School Resource Officer.” CLICK HERE to learn about what police said and what" “secure protocol” means.

Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a public charter school where curriculum includes Leadership classes. Each grade organizes a service learning project to help others in the community. CLICK HERE to discover how WLA collaborated with Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue and Little Miss Woodbury Nola’s family to create a service learning project in 4th grade.

Rocky Erickson, a freshman at Math and Science Academy in Woodbury, won an “Outstanding Student of the Year” award by the Minnesota Indian Education Association.

Woodbury High School Senior Emily Anderson won a scholarship for her essay reflecting on the positive impact art and creativity has on her life. Anderson wrote in part, “I didn’t always realize the impact of art on my life.” CLICK HERE for the scholarship amount, donor organization and which University of Wisconsin school she plans to attend.

The East Ridge High School Key Club is hosting a Bingo Night Fundraiser. All proceeds will go to the Filters of Hope. Filters of Hope helps people in struggling countries who do not have access to clean water. CLICK HERE for the fundraiser date and see some of the business that donated to the cause.

Woodbury’s street “spring cleaning” is slated to start on Monday, March 31. Weather permitting SWEEPERS will be in Woodbury neighborhoods citywide.

Best of Minneapolis 48 hour Film Project, Tuesday, April 8, 7 p.m., Woodbury 10 Theatre, 1470 Queens Drive, Woodbury. We are excited to announce the new 48 Hour Film Project City Producers for Minneapolis: Nathan Block and Damian Walker. To celebrate this, there will be a special FREE screening of some best of Minneapolis 48 Hour Films with a Q&A with the new city producers after the screening. There is no cost for the screening and Q&A.
