Check your lottery numbers! The winning ticket for the Gopher 5 Lottery was sold in Woodbury.

The ticket sold at the Kwik Trip located at 8477 City Centre Drive with the lucky numbers 5 14 28 39 43. The estimated jackpot for the April 9 drawing is $1,015,000.

If those are the numbers you have, put your ticket in a safe place, make an appointment with the Minnesota Lottery office in Roseville, and remember your neighbors here at the WNN would appreciate your support.

The Kwik Trip will receive a $5,000 prize for selling the winning ticket.

Manali Shah | Stacy Bartlett, a Life Science and Computer Science teacher at Stillwater Area High School has made it to the list of finalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year.

Kathy Saltzman | Open Cupboard, Woodbury area’s local food shelf, is hosting its annual fundraiser on Saturday, May 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. What makes this year’s Fill the Cupboard gathering unique is the location.

Beth-Ann Bloom | Holy Week, culminating in Easter Sunday, is the most sacred time on the Christian calendar. While many Woodbury residents have a church home and plan to attend special services this week, others who are new to the community or not part of a congregation may be looking for a chance to join in worship.

Beth-Ann Bloom | The Woodbury Public Safety Department shared on social media that it received several calls over the weekend about young people participating in Nerf Wars. In this activity students shoot each other with foam projectiles in an attempt to be the last one standing.

Kathy Saltzman | Event planners for One Woodbury are seeking input from the community as they begin planning the 2025 celebration. One Woodbury celebrates the diverse people, perspectives, and experiences in the community. City says public input will be critical in shaping the future of the celebration to best reflect the community. The event, held in Ojibway Park since 2023, has featured diverse performances, food trucks, and resource tables from community partners and sponsors.

Staff Report | An open house for public comment on a long-range plan for the Battle Creek-St Croix River Regional Trail will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Woodbury City Hall.

Alice by Heart, April 17, 18, and 19 at 7 p.m. Stillwater Area High School, Oak Park Heights, Minn. The school’s Spring Musical is a touching production inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and set in the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II. Recommended for ages 13+ and contains mature themes and language. Advance tickets available online only.

Many Fronts: Poetry and Memorials at the Capitol Mall, Friday, April 18, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., provides participants an opportunity to reflect on the experiences and perspectives of service members, veterans, and civilians in how we understand the nature of military conflicts, and how the public remembers and interprets the experience of war and service through memorials, monuments, and ekphrastic poetry.

Breakfast with the Bunny, Saturday, April 19, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Eagle Valley Golf Course, 2600 Double Eagle Lane, Woodbury. This event is sponsored by Woodbury Parks & Recreation. Dance and take pictures with the bunny while enjoying breakfast and creating a craft. $20 fee includes a hot breakfast buffet from Ze’s Diner, one craft, and pictures with the bunny. Registration required for people eating breakfast.
