For our top story this week: a frightening scene in Woodbury that involved an SUV left multiple Woodbury townhomes damaged on Friday, though thankfully no residents were injured. The driver was arrested and now faces multiple charges.

SUV Crashes Into Multiple Woodbury Townhomes

A driver of a white SUV crashed into three townhomes and caused a major gas leak in Woodbury's Lodges at the Preserve subdivision Saturday night. The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and no residents were hurt.
“Affected homes were evacuated out of an abundance of caution,” according to a statement from the Woodbury Police Department. “Once the gas leak was contained, affected residents were allowed back into their homes.”
A 53-year-old man from Oakdale, Minnesota, was arrested and now faces a gross misdemeanor charge for chemical test refusal, alongside three misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to notify property owners or police after a collision, and reckless driving. The criminal complaint filed in Washington County District Court states his preliminary breath test at the scene recorded a 0.295 BAC. A police officer secured a search warrant for a blood or urine sample but the man refused at the hospital.
