Roundabout: Out & About
Tuesday, October 28, 2025
Welcome to your weekly Out & About (Now on Tuesdays)!
There’s no shortage of things to do this week, from haunted bus tours to Halloween bar crawls lighting up St. Paul. Also make sure to save time for Woodbury’s own Kowalski’s, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary at its Woodbury location next weekend. And as fall winds down, the community will still be buzzing with Halloween spirit at your local favorite spots, along with a few spooky surprises.
Make the most of the season, it won’t be long before the snowflakes start to fall.

'Bugonia' Confronts Society's Bald Misdeeds
By Hunter Friesen
Oh, when will they ever learn? It’s a question that director Yorgos Lanthimos continually asks of his characters, and, by extension, the human species as a whole.
Lanthimos’s distinctly macabre filmography is filled with disturbing tales of morality, each finding ways to twist the knife on our preconceived notions. The off-kilter performances and absurd concepts — such as being turned into an animal if you don’t find a companion in “The Lobster,” or Barry Keoghan terrorizing Colin Farrell’s family in “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”— are never so disconnected from reality that they can be excused as pure fantasy.

Fun Fact
Depending on how old you are, you may remember the Halloween Blizzard of 1991, when nearly 30 inches of snow were dumped over the Twin Cities.
During that whiteout, trick-or-treaters were met with unsafe weather conditions, 11 counties were declared federal disaster areas and more than $15 million in damage was reported. In Woodbury, most children continued trick or treating, collecting candy from sleds. Waking up to a snow day meant lots of time to count the candy haul (and to shovel).
