Announcing Our Out & About Newsletter:

Beginning next week, we’re expanding to two emailed newsletters each week. The Roundabout will continue to be delivered on Thursdays, while our new newsletter, Out & About, will show up in your inbox on Wednesdays.

Out & About (see what we did there?) will be an engaging guide to food, culture, and events in Woodbury and surrounding areas. We know many of you missed the local newspaper because you too often found out about events after the fact. So from the beginning of the Roundabout we’ve included a listing of events.

Out & About will highlight events and share information about new restaurants and old favorites as well as stories about arts and culture. Look for the first Out & About next Wednesday!

Woodbury Woman Drowns In White Bear Lake

by Pat Mack | Published on June 23, 2025

A Woodbury woman drowned in White Bear Lake Sunday, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Beverly Rodriguez, 40, was a sergeant with the Metro Transit Police.

The sheriff’s office was sent to the east side of the lake at 2:27 p.m. after a report of a woman underwater who had not resurfaced after jumping off a pontoon boat. The release says she was under for about 40 minutes before she was recovered by the rescue dive team. Although she was transported by ambulance to a trauma center, Rodriguez was pronounced dead on arrival. The sheriff’s office is investigating.

In a statement, the National Latino Peace Officers Association said Sergeant Rodriguez served as regional vice president on its national board since 2021. She served as a board member with the association’s Minnesota chapter beginning in 2014.
